Partial Knee Replacement (UKR)




60 year old patient with inner compartment osteoarthritis of knee due to osteonecrosis (a bone disease where there is necrosis of bone due to lack of blood supply). Since only a very limited part of knee is involved hence he underwent partial knee replacement.
Partial knee replacement ( UKR) is a very physiological operation and minimal part of the joint is removed making it a joint preservative surgery. The recovery after the operation is very fast and hospital stay is shortened.
The patient could stand and walk the next day after surgery.
He is walking comfortably without any support in 4 weeks now.
Partial knee replacement is suitable for many patients with early osteoarthritis involving single knee compartment.

Hip Replacement




70 year old patient with hip pain and inability to walk due to fracture of left hip bone.
She underwent replacement of hip bone by a Bipolar hip implant. The broken hip ball is replaced with a specialised implant that allows immediate walking.
