Rotator cuff tears happen because of injuries or overuse of the shoulder part causing a strain. The tendons that connect muscles to bones get strained and tears apart which can cause the patient discomfort and pain in making movements. If left untreated this tear might increase, restricting the movement of the arm and increasing the pain. This procedure is one of the most successful, safe and secure methods today. This procedure mostly involves attachment of the torn tendon to the upper arm part. The arthroscope and the surgical instruments used in this procedure are really small and thin. Very small cuts are made in the shoulder area and the camera like instruments and fiber optics are inserted. The image of the inner joint is projected on the screen. If the tear is partial and small the solution is provided by smoothing or trimming procedure. In case of a complete tear, the tendon is stitched back to its original site.

This is called Bankart tear and is the most common form of ligament injury to the shoulder. The patient gets severe pain while moving the joint in different positions. Bankart repair involves the reposition of a torn piece of cartilage to give stability to the shoulder. The procedure is typically performed such that the patient can go home after a few hours of the surgery. the aim of the surgery is to tighten the torn cartilage of the shoulder. The procedure of surgery involves the insertion of an arthroscope into a small incision and use the bone anchors to hold the cartilage ligaments in place. The repair process is not much complicated but the precision is very much required and for that, the patient has to contact the experienced surgeons at Joint and bone solutions for the best results.Dr. Prince Gupta and Dr. Anubhav Gulati will provide you the best guidance and treatment. After the surgery the rehabilitation process is critical. The first few days for the patient will be very difficult and crucial. The patient will feel better, less pain, more comfortable with each passing day. Recovery after the surgery varies from patient to patient. If the patient is willing and active the chances to back to normal life early with the exact range of motion and strength are possible. Proper physical therapy at the clinic and home is very important to make full recovery. Please stick to proper medication and suggested dosage.
Frozen shoulder is a condition when shoulder doesn’t move normally and it feels like its stuck. The shoulder joint is supported by ligament and capsules. With a frozen shoulder, the patient loses external rotation of the shoulder. It occurs due to the tightening of shoulder ligaments and capsules. The patient feels severe pain the moment the shoulder joint is moved and it makes lifting, walking, even sleeping difficult. Without surgery, the frozen shoulder takes a long time to self-heal and it can take up to several years. The patients with diabetics are more prone to frozen shoulder due to dependency on insulin. The tendency of frozen shoulder is more in women with the age of above forty. The best method is the removal of scar tissue by arthroscopy. The surgeons at joint and bone solution are expertise in arthroscopy. The surgery includes the stretch and release of the stiffened joint capsule. The manipulation is done under anesthesia. To release the tight capsule, a radio frequency probe is used to cut the scarred and thick middle ligament. Once the anterior capsule is released doctors may perform posterior release if there is any tightening there also. Since it is a bit complex process the surgeons at joint and bone solution with there experience of 20+ years, Dr. Prince Gupta and Dr. Anubhav Gulati can suggest you the best plan and provide with you a proper treatment so that the patient can get rid of the pain and move the shoulder freely. After the surgery physicians help in the rehabilitation process by providing an exercise and physical therapy plan so that the patient can return to normal life as soon as possible. The cost of this surgery depends on the health of the patient, quality of ligament and time taken for the surgery. It takes around four to six weeks to make recovery.
